Engineer - 128ft New build Swan
A 128ft sailing yacht approaching completion requires an experienced Full-Time Engineer to join the program from January/February onwards. This role suits someone methodical, organised, and hands-on, with the confidence to take ownership of onboard systems as the yacht transitions from new-build and commissioning into reliable day-to-day operation.
The engineer will work closely with the commissioning engineer, project manager, yard, and captain to ensure a smooth handover from commissioning into service. The position will initially align with the final build and launch phase, after which the yacht will operate in the Mediterranean and be Palma-based for the next two winter seasons. Once the yacht start its world cruising tour there are plans for the role to become rotational. A calm approach, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate contractors are essential.
Looking for someone who has previous experience as sole/2nd engineering on similar size sailing yachts or larger, you need to be comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with hybrid propulsion and integrated modern vessel systems is preferred but not a must, any previous experience in a new-build environment or post-launch period would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be proactive, practical, and able to work effectively within a wider project team.
Qualifications required: Previous sail yacht or sailing experience, minimum 1 year in the yachting industry, AEC1+2, mechanical degree is a bonus
