We are currently seeking a rotational 2nd Engineer to join a 42m motor yacht, privately owned by an American family who have run a long-standing and highly professional programme for over 25 years. The vessel is Cayman Islands flagged, fully rebuilt and recommissioned in 2019, with a crew of 9 and a strong rotational structure. The yacht is based in West Palm Beach for the majority of the year with occasional winter trips to the Bahamas, and summers spent in Newport, RI. Guest usage is relatively low, offering a balanced and predictable lifestyle.

This is a dual role within the engineering and deck departments, supporting the maintenance and smooth running of the vessel while also assisting with exterior preparation, tender operations and guest activities when required. During guest trips, the candidate will take responsibility for overnight anchor watch. The programme is led by an experienced Captain and is known for a positive, respectful and family-style onboard culture, with an owner who looks after the crew and values professionalism, discretion and service.

The position is offered on a 2:2 rotational basis, with flights, medical cover and a competitive salary package including bonus and training support. We are looking for a mature, motivated and cheerful candidate who communicates confidently, works well in a team and enjoys a structured, long-term programme. Candidates must hold relevant certification, a B1/B2 visa (if required), and be able to start as soon as possible.
