An 82ft Swan sailing yacht is seeking a 1st Mate to join for the summer season, running from mid-June through to mid-September.

This is a private program based out of New Hampshire, with mainly day sailing and some light cruising around Maine and Rhode Island throughout the summer. The owners are described as very relaxed and enjoyable to work with, creating a low-key and pleasant onboard environment.

The ideal candidate will have solid previous sailing experience and be confident assisting with the day-to-day running of a sailing yacht of this size. Formal qualifications are not essential, however practical sailing knowledge, good deck skills and a proactive approach are important. Minimum 2 years experience.

A valid B1/B2 visa is required, although American candidates are preferred.

This role would suit someone easy-going, hands-on and comfortable working within a small crew on a relaxed family program. There is potential for the role to become permanent after the initial contract period. Medical coverage is provided through the yacht, with US private health insurance available after three months should the role become full-time.

Winter itinerary is Miami, 1 regatta followed by the Caribbean.

Qualifications required: Not a must but YM or equivalent preferred, previous sail yacht experience (minimum 2 years)
