Captain & Cook/Stew Couple – Oyster 565 - World Rally cruising
An Oyster 565 currently taking part in the Oyster World Rally 2026/27 is seeking a Captain & Cook/Stew couple to join an exciting world cruising program.
The yacht is privately owned by a couple who live onboard for the Rally and genuinely enjoy being involved with life onboard. Both owners enjoy sailing and are keen to continue developing their knowledge, so they are looking for a crew couple who are happy to involve them, share their experience and create an enjoyable, collaborative environment onboard. They also regularly welcome friends onboard during different stages of the trip.
The Captain must hold a minimum YM Ocean and have strong practical sailing and offshore cruising experience. This would particularly suit someone from a smaller sailing yacht background who is used to being hands-on with all aspects of running and maintaining a yacht. The owners are enthusiastic learners, so patience and a genuine enjoyment of teaching are important, whether that's sailing, passage planning, maintenance or the general day-to-day running of the yacht.
The Cook/Stew will be responsible for the galley and interior, preparing healthy, fresh and varied meals alongside keeping the yacht clean, organised and well maintained. The owner enjoys cooking herself and generally likes to help with two or three meals each week, with flexibility depending on the program, so they are looking for someone who will enjoy sharing the galley in a relaxed and collaborative way.
The yacht is currently in Australia before continuing through Indonesia, Réunion, Cape Town, Brazil and Antigua, where the rally is expected to finish around April 2027. program is to be decided from there on.
The owners are onboard for the majority of the program, so the right couple will be personable, adaptable and comfortable working closely with them over extended passages.
