A recently purchased 34m sailing yacht is seeking an experienced Captain, ideally applying as part of a couple, to join a new owner and help establish the program from the outset.

The yacht has recently changed ownership and will be starting with a new crew of four. The owner is an experienced yacht owner and keen sailor, with plans for a dual-season program between the USA East coast and Caribbean. The Captain will have the opportunity to recruit the remaining crew and help build their own team.

Ideally looking for a Captain applying with a partner, with flexibility around the partner's role depending on their experience. Potential combinations could include Captain/Chef, Captain/Stew or Captain/Mate-Engineer.

The Captain should be a confident and experienced sailor with a minimum Yachtmaster Ocean / Master 200. They are looking for someone hands-on and practical who is comfortable running a yacht of this size with a small crew. Excellent references and proven longevity are important.

The position could also suit an experienced Mate ready to step up into their first command, providing they have the sailing background, qualifications and maturity to take ownership of the program.

This is a permanent position and rotation is not being considered at this stage.

Qualifications required: Yachtmaster Ocean / Master 200 minimum, strong sailing background, excellent references and proven longevity
