First Mate J Class

A well-regarded J Class sailing yacht is seeking an experienced First Mate to join at the end of the Mediterranean summer season.

This is an established private programme with an exciting and busy summer of racing planned for next year. The yacht will spend this winter in Vilanova for a scheduled maintenance period before continuing its Caribbean and Mediterranean itinerary.

The successful candidate will come from a strong sailing background, ideally with experience aboard performance or racing yachts. They must be a confident watch leader and capable of managing and motivating a deck team comprising a Bosun and Deckhand.

Strong organisation and communication skills are essential, alongside a thorough understanding of deck maintenance and the ability to plan and oversee winter works in preparation for the upcoming regatta season.

  • Qualification: Yachtmaster Offshore minimum

  • Programme: Caribbean and Mediterranean, including a busy Mediterranean regatta season

  • Start: October/November

  • Joining location: Spain

  • Salary: DOE

  • Male candidates only due to cabin arrangements
