Deckhand – 60m Sailing Yacht - 4:2 rotation

A 60m sailing yacht is seeking a Deckhand to join a highly structured private program in the US.

Launched last year, the yacht is currently based in West Palm Beach where she is expected to remain for the next seven months. With relatively light owner usage during this period, the focus will be on commissioning, ongoing warranty work and ensuring the yacht is maintained and operating to the highest standard. Longer-term cruising is expected to remain around the US, Caribbean, US West Coast and potentially Hawaii.

This is a very structured a program with clear expectations around professionalism, presentation and behaviour onboard.

The yacht runs with a deck team of 3 and for this position, they are open to someone earlier in their career with around 1-2 seasons of industry experience, providing they have a genuine sailing background and good understanding of sailing operations. This could equally suit someone currently working on motor yachts who grew up sailing and would like to move back into a large sailing yacht environment.

The owner is a passionate sailor, so genuine interest and ability on the sailing side is important. They are looking for someone who is keen to become involved and continue developing their large sailing yacht experience. YM Offshore is not a must for this position but would be a bonus.

The successful candidate should be fit, active and health-conscious, with a professional approach both onboard and ashore. A B1/B2 visa is ideally required, although assistance with the paperwork may be possible.

There is a strong emphasis on longevity and development, with relevant courses funded by the yacht after the first year onboard and an annual salary increase structure in place.

Qualifications required: STCW, ENG1, ideally B1/B2, 1–2 seasons’ industry experience and a genuine sailing background, YM Offshore preferred
