First Mate 37m J class SY

A J Class SY is seeking an experienced First Mate to join its established sailing programme this month.

The yacht is Mediterranean-based and will spend the winter in Spain completing maintenance and preparing for the 2027 season. Next summer will combine owner cruising with several regattas, followed by attendance at the 2027 America’s Cup.

The successful candidate will have a strong superyacht sailing background, including racing and offshore experience. They should be a confident sailor and watch leader, with the organisation, work ethic and people skills required to manage and motivate a team.

A good working knowledge of engineering and hydraulic systems is also important, alongside a hands-on approach to maintenance and daily deck operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience aboard sailing yachts of a similar size

  • Strong racing and offshore sailing experience

  • Engineering and hydraulic systems knowledge

  • Good team-management skills

  • STCW

  • Yachtmaster CoC

  • Available to join ASAP

  • Salary DOE
