A 35m performance sailing yacht is seeking a 1st Mate to join a well-established program with excellent crew longevity and a great reputation.

The yacht has a close-knit crew and a positive team environment, with experienced Captains who are keen to train and develop the right person. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to continue progressing within the sailing industry while gaining experience on a well-run program.

The yacht will spend the winter in Mallorca undergoing a larger refit before heading up to Scandinavia for a busy summer cruising season. The program will involve plenty of sailing, with much of the summer spent at anchor. There are also plans to cross to the Caribbean the following winter.

They are looking for someone with a minimum of two years' experience on sailing yachts who is confident with sailing operations, deck maintenance and the general day-to-day running of the deck department. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organised and proactive, with a genuine passion for sailing and a willingness to continue learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Captain and crew, taking responsibility for deck operations while benefiting from excellent onboard training and guidance. There is also a training package on offer for someone looking to commit to the program long-term, with the opportunity to continue developing their qualifications and experience.

Qualifications required: Yachtmaster Offshore minimum, STCW, ENG1, minimum 2 years' sailing yacht experience
