A 35m performance sailing yacht is seeking a 1st Mate to join a private/charter program with a busy Mediterranean summer ahead.

The yacht is looking for a confident and capable Mate who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the deck department, someone hands-on, extremely organised and comfortable taking the lead with the crew when required.

This could suit an experienced Deckhand or Bosun looking to step up into their first Mate position, providing they have a strong sailing background, good practical knowledge and the confidence to take on more responsibility. The yacht operates a mini ISM system, although previous experience with this is not essential.

The owners have young children and enjoy an active lifestyle, so they are looking for someone safety-conscious who is enthusiastic about water sports, particularly kitesurfing, wingfoiling and e-foiling. The successful candidate should be comfortable organising and supervising guest activities while maintaining high safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong personality, good leadership skills and the ability to work independently. An interest in drone operations would also be advantageous, with previous experience welcomed but not essential.

The yacht is expected to remain single-season Mediterranean program for the foreseeable future, with plans to increase charter activity next summer. The following winter will be either in Palma or Villanova.

Qualifications required: Commercially endorsed YM Offshore, STCW, ENG1, strong sailing background
